First let me talk shortly about the benefits of music. Music can be therapeutic. Music can be healing.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine (2020), Music may:
help you sleep
reduce blood pressure
help with anxiety
help improve mood
help improve memory
etc.
When you’re cooking, cleaning, relaxing, socializing, working, etc., playing your favorite music in the background sets the scene like nothing else. When you want to dance with yourself, significant other, friends, family, you turn up your favorite music. Am I right?
Depending on what mood you are going for, you may want to have a specific set of songs. A pre made playlist makes it easy to get your vibe going.
If you have been rocking with me for a while, you know I love quotes. I found some quotes on music.
Here a few quotes on music
Music does a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s transporting for sure. It can take you right back, years back, to the very moment certain things happened in your life. It’s uplifting, it’s encouraging, and it’s strengthening.-Aretha Franklin
Music has healing powers. It has the ability to people out of themselves for a few hours. -Elton John
Where words fail, music speaks.-Hans Christian Anderson
Music is to the soul what words are to the mind.-Modest Mouse
Music is the soundtrack to every good and bad time we will ever have.-Alex Gaskarth
Okay, let’s get back to the playlist. I grew up in the 90s. So, of course a 90s R&B playlist would be on my list of playlists. There are some songs from that era that I listen to often.
Since I wanted to create a playlist with 150+ R&B songs, I found some songs that I forgot about and some I hadn’t heard before. How about that? I had fun creating this playlist. It brought back all types of memories. I also created new memories creating this playlist.
Fun fact: The first song my husband and I dance to was Candy Rain by Soul for Real. We were teenagers.
I added the 150+ Top 90s R&B Song playlist to this blog below from spotify. If 90s R&B is your thing, I hope you enjoy the playlist.

During lockdown we introduced music nights where we’d sit and listen to music, new and old. It’s something we’ve continued though I haven’t gotten around to compiling any playlists. But maybe I should……
Awww that’s beautiful! I bet those moments bring y’all great joy. Yes, try creating one together. I bet it will be fun.
Good idea, thank you
You’re very welcome!
