Here Is A Healthy Natural Coffee Alternative. Dandy Blend

Hey loves, stopping by today to talk about a natural coffee alternative called Dandy Blend. It is a great one too.  Are you looking for a healthy coffee alternative? Keep reading.

I love coffee butttt….it does not love me back.  I love it so much until it took me years to acknowledge the negative signs.

Hmmm…sounds like a bad relationship you don’t want to let go.  It is bad for you but when it is good, it is so good. One day it hits you, the fragments of good are not enough.

Honestly, it really was not that good. You just became so use to the bad. So, when any little good happened, it seemed like a big good.

Okay, enough of this. I promise this is not a relationship post. My mind just went there when I thought about ignoring negative signs.

Okay, back to coffee….

I was the coffee girl. You hear me.  You know the girl who had to have a frappe to start her day. Yeah, that girl. That was ME.  I had to have one.  I mean it had to be a part of my morning routine. Breakfast? I could skip but not my frappe.

We were close, okay.  I didn’t get it small or medium (tall or grande). I needed the biggest size.  It had to have whipped cream and some type of syrup on top.

One day a few years ago, I sat down and calculated how much money I was spending on this morning addiction. Sheesh!!! A lot.  Let me not to forgot to mention the times I would have a second big ole cup at lunch.

About six years ago, I started doing research on healthier living.  I start learning some things about coffee.  First, let me say, I am not against coffee.

So, if coffee is your thang and it does not bother you in a negative way or give your body unwanted side effects, by all means, keep living it up with frappes, cappuccinos, lattes, etc. Whatever you fancy.

If by any chance you like to have yours with unsweetened almond milk, vegan vanilla creamer (or vanilla extract) & cinnamon, drank one for me while you at it.

Tip for you coffee lovers, pay attention to the add ons in your coffee. They can help make your drink healthy or not healthy.

Due to coffee been acidic and possessing dehydration properties, it inflames my body & skin badly. So, I can only have it every once in a while.  I go months without it. I have too.

I have created a few concoctions to make coffee as healthy as possible when I do dabble in it here or there.  One is black coffee, cacao powder, cinnamon, vegan vanilla creamer, unsweetened almond milk, & sometimes vanilla extract.

Okay…so who is this post for?

This post is for the person:

who needs to cut down on caffeine or cut out coffee because coffee is causing negative unwanted side effects in your body

who still wants the look and roasted smell in his or her cup

who misses the ritual of taking time out and enjoying a beautiful cup of Joe

Of course, I am not a doctor or nutritionist. I am sharing what has worked for me.  As always, do your research and run this by your doctor before adding it into your routine.

A few months ago, I was searching the web. I am trying really hard to think about how I landed up on this coffee alternative.  I was not looking for it. I think I was looking up the benefits of dandelion tea.  I came across Dandy Blend.

I was like a kid in the candy store. I was excited because the pictures look just like coffee. I was like…wait..what!! Now, y’all know coffee makes for some of the prettiest pictures. Coffee when dressed up just looks good.

I love tea. I have tea time in my routine everyday. Tea & coffee rituals have been beneficial components in my routine.  I do have moments where I miss the look of coffee all dressed up in my cup. I know I am not the only one.

Anyways, Dandy Blend is a game changer for sure. You can replaced your coffee with Dandy Blend.

It has the look, texture, & roasted smell of coffee with a bunch of healthy benefits. Bullseye.

Just look at the pictures in this post. It is a cup of beauty.

Let’s talk about some of these benefits shall we

Dandy Blend is Gluten free. It is made with dandelion root, chicory root, roasted barley, rye, & sugar beet.

Since chicory root is a part of the dandelion family, it pairs well with dandelion in this blend.

Gonzale et al. (2012) found evidence that dandelion root can be beneficial to the body due to:

High levels of Antioxidants

Anti viral and Anti inflammatory Properties

May boost immune function

May detoxify the blood

Streit (2019) explained how chicory acts as prebiotic which may cause improvement of health gut.  Here are a few other benefits she discussed.

May improve better digestion

May influence weight loss by decreasing appetite

May help manage blood sugar

Now, let’s get to the way I make my coffee alternative with Dandy Blend. I drink regular tea daily for those benefits mentioned above. Don’t get me wrong, I love that this blend may provide me with them also.

There were two main reasons that sold me specifically on Dandy Blend though.

Remind you, I was a coffee girl. Remember when I mentioned how Dandy Blend has the look, texture, roasted smell of coffee. I think it was a couple hundred words ago.

That is the big reason that sold me. Another one is how easy and quick it is to prepare.

It is an instant herbal beverage. It doesn’t matter if you are in a hurry running out the door or if you got time to sit down and relax. You can add this to your routine.

So, I like to dress mine up with a few other ingredients.

Here is the current concoction

2 tsp dandy blend with hot water

unsweetened almond milk

cacao powder

moon juice collagen protect

lion’s main mushroom powder

vanilla vegan creamer

I rotate between using a blender or handheld milk frother to make this drink. Voila, my own version of a latte or cappuccino without coffee!

The look and feel of coffee without the negative side effects. I do not miss coffee at all.

I enjoy it in

coffee time with my husband

quiet time

bible studying time

journaling time

book reading time

bath time

etc

I also add it to a smoothie to make very own version of a frappe. Yummy, I tell ya!

Dandy Blend can be purchase on their website, Amazon, or some health stores.  I buy mine from a health store called Natural Grocers.

Do you have any coffee alternatives?

I think I will go make me some after I finished this post.
